Scamanga came to prominence in Beirut during the early 1960s, as a leading light in the city’s art scene.

His first major solo exhibitions at the galery One in 1963 and galery l'Amateur in Beirut, and his first successes as a painter.

Constructing mystical spaces through form and colour - that became his life’s work and legacy.
